Quality Assurance Tester

We are looking for someone who is passionate about games, ambitious, take play seriously and pay close
attention to details.

This role is full time, based in Umeå Sweden so you need to live or relocate to Umeå.

We encourage both job applicants and people looking for internship to apply for this position.

General duties
  • Test functionality, ease of use, reliability, consistency and report defects or design issues found.
  • Ensure a flawless player experience by thoroughly checking for and reporting bugs.
  • Work closely with programmers, designers and artists to make sure that we deliver world class gaming
    experiences.
  • Be part of a friendly, highly competent, creative and open development team, where you will be testing
    through all stages of development.

Programmer

General duties
  • Working closely with producers, game designers and artists to implement a next-generation game.
  • Implementing, optimizing and maintaining core game engine systems
  • Modify, enhance and maintain asset pipelines and tools
  • Staying up-to-date with new technologies and architectures
  • Following Level Eight’s standards and best practices
  • Assisting and mentoring other programmers in your areas of expertise
Qualifications
  • Excellent C++ programming skills
  • Familiarity with large-scale C++ project development
  • Experience writing in shader languages (e.g. GLSL, HLSL)
  • Good familiarity with engine architectures
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to write clear, robust, maintainable code
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and redo/iterate work until it’s right
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A genuine enthusiasm and passion for the games industry
  • Must be eligible to work in Sweden
Desirable
  • Apple iOS or Android development experience
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Experience with code optimization and profiling tools
  • C# and/or a scripting language (e.g. Python)
  • A degree in a course such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Mathematics is preferred. Self-taught applicants must be able to demonstrate a high level of competency with game related demo code

 


 

Artist

General duties
  • Working closely with producers, game designers and programmers to implement a next-generation game
  • Develop 2D/3D visual assets using Photoshop, Maya and comparable tools
  • Create 2D/3D animations for key gameplay events and game interface screens
  • Provide illustrations, sketches and concepts to express key gameplay events
  • Following Level Eight’s standards and best practices
  • Assisting and mentoring other artists in your areas of expertise
Qualifications
  • Outstanding skills in Photoshop or comparable 2D software packages
  • Outstanding skills in Maya, Blender, Zbrush or comparable 3D software packages
  • Be able to follow and adapt to stylistic guidelines set by the Lead Artist
  • Firm grasp of core artistic principles such as value, color and composition
  • Online portfolio consisting of current personal and recent professional work
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and redo/iterate work until it’s right
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • A genuine enthusiasm and passion for the games industry
  • Must be eligible to work in Sweden
Desirable
  • Apple iOS or Android development experience
  • 3+ years game industry or film related experience as a 2D/3D Artist or Animator
